Cricket had a weaker signal and no HD Voice, but my data speeds were always outstanding, even at home, and they felt just as fast as WiFi in many cases. I just don't feel that my data reliability is going to be steady or there when I need it. I suppose too many people are using band 13, and the strongest signal in the world doesn't help that. I guess I don't understand the combination of strong signal and poor throughput.

Web surfing improved on the Samsung by the next day, but not mine. Of course I could use WiFi at home, but all this came about when my neighborhood had a power failure, and I could barely get my power company's website to come up on either phone, even though the signal was quite strong. She never did open a ticket with engineering.

If that was the case, it would be slow everywhere. It's nothing to do with clearing my cache or my version of Android, etc. She was very nice and just doing her job, but we went through tedious troubleshooting even though I told her my phone had decent download speeds, just not at home. I spend 30 minutes or more on the phone with a prepaid representative after explaining that I just wanted to report trouble, not go through lengthy troubleshooting. If you are still seeing slow downloads then this you can try the following steps: Disable all background programs on your system (including Steam). I read from another source that Band 13 was terrible for web surfing, but I don't know if that's factual. My family member's Samsung J7 (Verizon branded) surfs much better at home, but it's not lightning fast either. My Internet surfing is horribly slow at my home (even though I have 4-5 bars and 4G) but acceptable when I'm out shopping etc. Cricket has HD Voice for some phones, but who knows if their HD Voice will work on my phone or when. That's a shame, because the HD Voice (VoLTE) does work, and the quality blew me away. I thought I'd try VZW prepaid for a month, but I'm likely going back to Cricket. So, is there an HP employee that mans this site that can escalate this issue and come back with the offical HP response to why this problem is occuring? I will definiately go online and rate the Pavilion low on the ratings sites if I don't get back a suitable answer.I have an HTC U11 as well. So, taking all this into account, A LOGICAL PERSON CAN CONSLUDE THAT THE PROBLEM IS WITH THE PAVILION LAPTOP.

And just like the original poster - I have my old clunky, almost dead laptop right here and it's downloading things 5 times as fast as my new laptop.Īlso, I found another post online from a HP Pavilion user who bought a new laptop and it is downloading slow. Also, many of the things the folks are recommending on this site are not taking into account that the laptops are brand new, the settings are already the factory ettings, and things are not running in the background everytime we are trying to download. I just bought my Pavilion m6 three days ago and immediately noticed that the download speed was very slow.
